The Four Feathers Society History
The Four Feathers Society is a B.C. non-Profit society that uses a wholistic approach to improve 2 Spirit Wellness by organizing workshop, activities, and events that strengthen 2 Spirit community spiritual, emotional, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. FFS advocates of 2 Spirit concerns and issues.
FFS has been invited into sacred circles to represent 2 Spirit inclusion events such as Downtown Eastside Smudge. We have been invited to speak at several LGBTIQ events.

Four Feathers Society Programming History
2024 Two Spirit Sweat Lodge Improvement Project. FFS funded improvement and repairs to the Capilano Two Spirit Sweat Lodge. FFS funds the Sweat Lodge Ceremonies on going bases.
2023 Two Spirit Day: Family Pow Wow Night. FFS hosts Vancouver Family Night Pow Wow Night for Two Spirit Day.
2023 Cultural Activities. We started during weekly Drumming Groups. We did Cultural workshop such Pow Wow Regalia Making, Drum Making, and Beading.
2022 Guide for Elders and Indigenous Organization Working with Two Spirit. The Guide was the end product of WAGE Capacity Building Grant.
2022 BC Two Spirit Gathering FFS Hosted a gathering at Cheakmus Squamish. Sixty 60 people attended a 4 day Cultural gathering.
2020 Online Groups: FFS started doing online Talking Circle and Educational groups such as Trauma, Four Agreements, and Non Violent Communication, and Medicine Wheels Teachings.
2020: Traditional Healing Kits. FFS received TransCare BC Funds. We started doing mailouts of Traditional Healing Kits to Two Spirit throughout BC. These wellness kits contained Traditional medicine, sacred objects, homemade items, and teachings.
2020: 2 Spirit of BC: FFS received Women and Gender Equality Capacity Building Grant. We created 2 Spirit of BC and did research BC Two Spirit people’s need.
2019 – Taking Back Your Power: Partnered with Native Courtworkers and Counseling Association of BC to put on 6 Sessions Trauma Group
2010 – 2019 Two Spirit Sweat Lodge: The Four Feather Society raise funds to meet the needs of the sweat lodge locate on the Squamish Capilano Reserve.
2011: 23rd Annual International Two-Spirit Gathering: In partnership with Healing our Spirit we put hosted the International Two Spirit Gathering which was held on Gambier Island. “LAND OF THE CEDAR: TWO-SPIRITS, ONE CIRCLE” JULY 27, 28, 29, & 30TH, 2011
2011: Aboriginal Two-Spirit and LGBTQ Migration, Mobility and Health Research Project.. FFS sat on the research committee.
2010 to 2013: 2 Spirit Drumming Circle and Potluck Feast
2006 – 2009: Embracing our Spirits: Partnered with GaMMA Project. We sat on the committee two years and put on Embracing Gathering held.
2007 to 2015: The Gay Men’s Talking Circle: 2 Spirit and Gay men’s Talking Circle.Gaywarriors ran for 8 year Vancouver, BC.
2006: FFS sat on the Gay Men’s Methamphetamine Working Group and cohosted the Embracing our Spirit Gathering.
2006 to 2010: Healing Families and Communities Conference cochairing organization for four years which was a province wide conference on domestic violence this allow to speak LGBTIQ domestic violence issues
2005 to 2006 Pride In Art Exhibition:
This art event is a 2 Spirit/Gay/Lesbian/Bi/Transgendered/Queer art and cultural event held during Vancouver’s Pride Week at Roundhouse Arts and Recreational Community Centre. FFS funded the event 2005 this event is still being run. Pride in Art Exhibition Society was formed to better support this event.
2004: Aboriginal Domestic Violence Gathering. Held at UBC this was first gathering to discuss aboriginal issues on Domestic Violence.
The Four Feathers Society in between all these events organized medicine picking trips, camping trips, Winter gatherings, potlucks, and Burnings Ceremony.
